Pamela Anderson's decision to go make-up-free at Fashion Week is a powerful statement.

The star has publicly shared her choice to be fresh-faced at the biggest runway shows of this season. She has also been dressing without a stylist and just following her gut when putting outfits together.

As a long-time symbol of archetypal "hotness", Andersons' looks have been heavily scrutinized for decades. Since rising to fame in the 90's she's been expected to look a certain way and meet the conventionally sexy standard. During this time the media focused only on her looks and she was constantly being asked invasive questions about her appearance. It feels like her choice to not wear makeup at some of the most prestigious fashion events is at some part a way of rejecting the expectations put on her.

Anderson's makeup artist - Alexis Vogel - also passed away in 2019, and since then she says she hasn't felt compelled to wear makeup. In her recent interview, Anderson said that this is a time in her life where she feels good in her own skin while getting to know who she is. Seeing her forgo glam feels like a natural part of that reset.
